BUYER DECISION GUIDE
White-Label vs Embedded
Is a white-label payment platform the same as an embedded payment integration? No. White-label describes who owns the payment platform: you resell a vendor's product under your own brand, so customers see your name while the vendor holds the platform relationship and often the merchant account beneath it. Embedded describes where the payment renders: inside your own page rather than on a provider-hosted one. A white-label platform can offer an embedded checkout, and a business using Stripe's embedded components directly is not white-label at all.

DECISION RULE
Choose from the customer need.
- If the concern is customer experience, fewer redirects and continuity with your product, that is the embedded question, and you can answer it inside your own provider account without a white-label vendor at all.
- If the concern is speed to market with no engineering capacity, that is the white-label question, and embedding is a feature to check the vendor supports rather than a substitute for it.
- If the concern is long-term control, ask who holds the merchant account and where the stored payment methods live, because those two facts determine what leaving costs.
In every path, browser returns are informational. Signed provider events remain authoritative for payment, subscription, and eligible crypto-delivery status.
