PUBLIC LEGAL / PRIVACY POLICY

Privacy
Policy.

This Privacy Policy explains how SET Enterprises, LLC, which operates Simple Easy Transactions (“SET,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), handles personal information when you visit simpleeasytransactions.com (the “site”), send us an inquiry, buy our services or the Starter Kit, or work with us as a client. SET serves businesses, so most of the personal information we handle is business contact information about the people who work for our clients and prospective clients.

1. Scope and roles

This Policy covers personal information that SET decides how to use, such as inquiries, purchases, and client-relationship records.

When a client gives SET access to its own systems, such as Google Search Console, analytics, a code repository, or the client's Stripe account, SET uses any personal information it can see there only to perform the services the client asked for. The client's own privacy policy governs that information.

Stripe processes payments. Stripe acts under its own privacy policy, both as a processor for payments and, for some purposes such as fraud prevention and legal compliance, as an independent controller (see Section 6).

This Policy does not cover third-party websites or services, including Stripe, Cloudflare, Google, GitHub, and Anthropic, which have their own privacy notices.

We do not ask for and do not want payment card numbers, bank account numbers, government identification numbers, or passwords through the inquiry form or email. Card details are entered into payment components provided by Stripe and are processed by Stripe; SET's systems are not designed to receive full card numbers.

SET Payouts. If you use SET Payouts, SET stores the recipient addresses, amounts, batch details, transaction hashes and payment status of your payouts, linked to the identifier of your wallet account. Names or references you type for recipients stay in your browser and in reports you download, and are not sent to SET. Blockchain payments are public: anyone can see the sending and receiving addresses and the amounts.

3. How we use information

We use personal information to:

  • respond to inquiries and scope potential engagements;
  • sell, deliver, and support our services and the Starter Kit, including enforcing download limits;
  • operate the Embedded Payments Platform for clients, including onboarding connected accounts, creating charges, and calculating and reconciling fees, refunds, and disputes;
  • perform Visibility Reviews and other engagements using access a client provides;
  • bill clients and keep business, financial, and tax records;
  • understand, in aggregate, how the site is used commercially;
  • protect the site, our clients, and SET against fraud, abuse, and security threats, and diagnose problems; and
  • comply with law and enforce our Terms.

SET does not sell personal information and does not use or disclose it for cross-context behavioral or targeted advertising. The site does not run advertising pixels or third-party analytics.

4. Cookies and similar technology

The site uses only the following cookies and similar technology:

  • Stripe fraud-prevention cookies on checkout pages, set by Stripe.js to help detect and prevent fraud. See Stripe's Privacy Policy.
  • Cloudflare security cookies, used by our hosting provider to protect the site from abusive traffic.
  • Cloudflare Access cookies, used only when SET's own site operators sign in to protected areas of the site. Visitors and clients do not receive these.

The site does not use advertising cookies or third-party analytics cookies. Because these cookies are needed for security and payments, the site does not offer a setting to turn them off; you can block cookies in your browser, but checkout may not work.

Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track. Because SET does not sell personal information or use it for targeted advertising, there is nothing for a Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal to opt you out of. The site does not change its behavior in response to these signals.

5. Service providers and other disclosures

We share personal information with these service providers, who handle it to provide services to us:

  • Cloudflare: hosting, databases and file storage, security, and access control for site operators.
  • Stripe: payment processing for purchases from SET and for payments on clients' connected accounts. Stripe also acts as an independent controller for some purposes (see Section 6).
  • Google: our Gmail inbox, which receives inquiries and email.
  • GitHub: hosting and version control for code, which may include client code and configuration during an engagement.
  • Anthropic: AI coding tools (Claude Code) that SET uses in development and client engagements, which may process code and information visible through client access.

We may also disclose personal information: when required by law or legal process; to protect the rights, property, or safety of SET, our clients, or others; to professional advisers such as lawyers and accountants; and to a buyer or successor in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to this Policy.

6. Stripe

When you provide personal data in connection with Simple Easy Transactions, Stripe receives that personal data and processes it in accordance with Stripe's Privacy Policy.

Stripe's Privacy Policy is at https://stripe.com/privacy. If your business uses the Embedded Payments Platform, your Stripe account is also governed by the Stripe Connected Account Agreement at https://stripe.com/connect-account/legal/full, which allows Stripe to share data about your account and transactions with SET as your platform provider. Questions about information Stripe controls should go to Stripe.

SET Payouts billing. When you choose a paid SET Payouts plan, SET creates a Stripe customer for you and gives Stripe the email address you sign in with and an identifier for your wallet account, so Stripe can bill you and send receipts. SET keeps the Stripe customer and subscription identifiers, your plan, its status and its renewal date, linked to your wallet account identifier. Card and bank details go directly to Stripe; SET does not receive or store them.

7. How long we keep information

We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes in Section 3, then delete it, except where we must keep it longer for a legal hold, a security incident, a dispute, or a legal, tax, or accounting requirement. While kept longer, access remains restricted. The periods below are maximums: in no case do we keep a category longer than the duration of our contract with the client or prospective client it relates to, plus six years, unless one of those exceptions applies.

CategoryRetention period
InquiriesThe duration of any contract that results from the inquiry, plus six years. If no contract results, up to six years after the inquiry.
Webhook logsUp to 30 days in active storage; then written to archive files kept up to 180 days, then purged during a retention sweep.
Email in GmailThe duration of the contract the email relates to, plus six years.
Purchases from SET and the charge ledgerThe duration of the contract, plus six years (financial and tax records).
Starter Kit ordersThe duration of the purchase contract, plus six years.
Connected-account recordsWhile the client uses the platform, then the rest of the contract’s duration, plus six years.
Engagement accessUsed only during the engagement; SET removes its own access promptly when the engagement ends.
Site usage countsAnonymous; kept no longer than six years.
Technical and security informationAs set by Cloudflare’s service, and never longer than the duration of the contract plus six years.

Retention sweeps run periodically, so deletion may occur some time after a period ends rather than at an exact moment.

8. Security

We use safeguards designed to protect personal information, including these: payment card details are handled by Stripe rather than stored by SET, and access to non-public records on the site is limited to authorized SET operators through Cloudflare Access. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

If you believe your interaction with SET is no longer secure, email st.et.enterprises@gmail.com right away.

9. Your choices and rights

You may ask us to access, correct, or delete personal information we hold about you, or to stop sending you non-essential email. Email st.et.enterprises@gmail.com with “Privacy request” in the subject, or write to SET Enterprises, LLC, 150 English Village Park, Nixa, MO 65714, United States. We will verify your identity and authority before acting and will respond within 5 days. Some information may be unavailable because it has expired under Section 7, or may need to be kept for legal reasons.

If a client of ours holds your information (for example, you bought from a business that uses our platform), please contact that business; we will help it respond where required.

10. Children

The site and SET's services are for businesses and are not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

11. Visitors outside the United States

SET currently offers its services only to businesses in the United States. SET is based in the United States, and our service providers process information in the United States.

12. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy when our services, providers, or the law change. The “Last updated” date shows the current version. If we make a material change, we will post the updated Policy on the site and email active clients before the change takes effect.
